History

Yarborough & Rocke Funeral Home has been serving Philadelphia area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

Mr. John K Yarborough started the John K Yarborough Funeral Home in 1928 in the Eastwick section of Philadelphia. He was a successful proprietor in a predominantly African-American section of the city called Elmwood. In 1964, he began a partnership with a young and enthusiastic funeral director named Leslie E Rocke and from this point, the business was called Yarborough and Rocke. It moved from the Eastwick section to Spruce St. in West Philadelphia to its final location at 1001 N 63rd St. The business has enjoyed three generations working side-by-side and we look forward to continuing to be a pillar in the community and serving families.
